Objective

Saudi Graduate Recruitment & Development (SGRD) is charged with ensuring that the best and brightest Saudi students matriculate to KAUST for advanced degrees. Through its Saudi graduate recruitment and development activities, the unit manages and nurtures this important Saudi talent pool for the University. SGRD Initiatives instill in Saudi applicants a personal connection to KAUST through targeted outreach that includes enhanced one-on-one engagement with prospective students; events and activities tailored to individuals and groups of Saudi students from throughout the country and the world; and strong partnerships with academic, industry, and government institutions within Saudi Arabia

Target Audience

Saudi undergraduate and graduate students (in-kingdom and abroad), teaching assistants and lecturers, faculty and academic leaders, industry, and government institutions

Benefits
  • Open Houses: Through these in-person, on-campus activities Saudi students and their faculty can discover KAUST’ s research, innovation and academic and capabilities. Open Houses are a full day visit, by invitation only and academic division focused.
  • Virtual Visits: Conducted through Zoom on frequent basis, these are thematic 1 –hour sessions in the middle of the day. It gives guests the opportunity to engage with faculty, researchers, university leadership and students.
  • In-kingdom University Visits: SGRD representatives and KAUST faculty visit Saudi universities across the nation on semester basis.
  • Conversations with KAUST: Drop in during our virtual office hours and get your questions answered. Work closely with SGRD team members on your application and the required documents.
  • KAUST Information Sessions: Conducted through Zoom every other week in the evenings and during the academic year. A KAUST Overview and the application process is presented by one of the SGRD staff members with time for Q&A.
  • KAUST Application Workshop: Diving deeper into the application process and the documents required. This session guides participants on how to prepare a CV, Personal Statement and how to request Letters of Recommendation. Hosted online every other week in the evenings.
